The way carboxitherapy is performed, is by using especially prepared
equipment, which regulates the speed of the flow, time of injection,
and monitors the percentage of the administered dose.
CO2 works on the affected zone and is rapidly eliminated.
How is it administered?
CO2 is infiltrated subcutaneously with a sterilized needle similar
to the ones used for insulin injections, connected to a very thin
hose, which is hooked up to an equipment prepared for this
objective.
The
equipment allows to regulate the speed of the CO2 flow (contained in
an oxygen tank), time of injection, and monitors the percentage of
the administered dose.
There is no systemic toxicity with
carboxitherapy, or other side effects, except a light and short pain
in the zone of the application
The ideal protocol is 2 or 3 sessions each week, to accomplish 18 to
20 body sessions, each session lasting 30 minutes.
.
How
does it work?
When CO2 penetrates in form of gas it produces a hyperdistension of
the subcutaneous tissue, liberating bradikin, serotonin, histamine,
and catecholamine, which stimulate the beta-adregenergic receptors,
producing lypolisis (destruction of fat cells)
At
the injection site the CO2 is easily spread to other tissues nearby,
and keeps on doing its work. Its introduction under the skin is
completed with a manual massage that helps distribute CO2, and makes
it circulate. When the CO2 comes in contact with fat, it diffuses,
part of it going to red blood cells, where when it comes in contact
with the hemoglobin, it sends oxygen to the tissue. This oxygen
permits metabolic reactions and produces a stimulation of the
burning of fat. Results can be seen immediately, the tissue
improves, the skin is smoother and the affected zones become
thinner. This way cellulite is treated effectively and blood
circulation is also improved.
This gas improves the intracellular exchange and the cellular
nutrition in persons who have cellulite.
Appropriate for:
·
cellulite
·
Located fat (helps reduce measures)
·
Flabbiness
·
Stretch marks
·
Micro varicose veins
·
Pre and Post liposculpture (improving results and avoiding fibrosis)
CARBOXITHERAPY
AND
CELLULITE
Cellulite is
a
major cosmetic problem suffered by a great majority of women of all
age groups.
In
these days Carboxitherapy is being mentioned as an alternative to
eliminate it.
The truth is that cellulite is a circulatory disorder in a local
level; when a correct drainage of our fat cells does not occur,
waste and impurities build up, in the beginning as a liquid form,
and afterwards it acquires a thick consistency. The accumulation of
this thick liquid produces, as a consequence, an irritation in the
cells called fibroblast. Cells start to produce collagen in bigger
amounts; as a result there is traction in the dermis, which causes
the feared “orange peel”. For this reason, the injections of CO2,
through the therapeutic effects mentioned, re-establish the
morphology and function of the micro circulation, increasing the
quantity and the speed of the blood flow, diminishing the
accumulation of liquid between the cells, disintegrating the fat in
the hypodermis and diminishing fibrosis.
In
a few weeks, the local metabolism is stimulated, with the increase
of the micro circulation, eliminating toxins and with the activation
of the process of lypolisis (destruction of fat tissue).
What do we obtain with this?
The first results can be noticed immediately, the quality of the
tissue improves, skin becomes smoother and the affected zones turn
thinner.
But the most interesting part is not what happens on the surface,
but what happens to the micro-circulation.
As
a summary, why is carboxitherapy active over cellulite?
According to most recent studies, origins of cellulite are in the
micro-circulations, the network of tiny arterial, venous, and
lymphatic vessels that go across the connective.
If
this system of micro-circulation isn’t functioning well, the tissue
isn’t nourished with efficiency, and the waste accumulates, with the
formation of edemas, nodules, and retraction of the skin.
When CO2 is injected in the affected area through a very thin
needle, the situation is reverted, a vessel dilatation occurs, and
the speed of the micro-circulation improves. The tissue receives
more oxygen, toxins are eliminated and the edema reduces
It
also helps the lypolisis, in other words the destruction of the fat
tissue.
Another interesting fact is that carboxitherapy offers excellent
results in patients who have had cellulite for a long time; on the
other hand it’s an excellent prevention method in the evolution of
cellulite in young patients.
CO2 can be used in any part of the body with good results and
without side effects. Carboxitherapy is a therapeutic method for
cellulite, ideal for women of any age, effective and safe.
Are there any other alternatives for treating cellulites?
Yes, there are different treatments in aesthetic medicine, as
lymphatic drainage, mesotherapy, or elctrolypolisis, but there are
also other alternatives in Aesthetic Surgery, to fight cellulite,
such as: liposuction or liposculpture, very efficient treatments to
battle this problem common to many women.
Plastic surgeons and dermatologist, make clear that the correct use
of carboxitherapy has no risk and no side effects. Although it is
very important that the carboxitherapy should be done by a qualified
doctor. There is always the possibility that some small spots could
appear. The person can continue their normal activities after each
session.
